Campaigns

analytics campaigns traffic

A campaign is an event for traffic attraction

A campaign is characterized by active period, expenses and the level of efficiency.
Usage of utm_campaign helps a web-analyst where a user came to a website from, from which promo offer and which advertising system.

To create a new campaign go to “Channels” tab of “Traffic” section and press “Create a campaign” button.
Then name the campaign and indicate a value of utm_campaign tag relevant to this particular campaign.

How to indicate a tag?

Utm_campaign is a name of the campaign. Here you need to specify a name of the campaign transliterated or translated into English or its ID. Use only latin characters.
utm_campaign=MK_01.09

In contextual advertising you can put a {campaign_id} variable to a tag instead of specifying its value:
utm_campaign={campaign_id}

When user follows the link with this tag, advertising platform will put a needed value into the variable - an ID of the promo campaign.
An advantage of this way is that you create only one tag and Yandex.Direct or Google Adwords put a unique values for each click on its side automatically.
You can read more about variables in guide of those services:
  • Yandex.Direct
  • Google Adwords

After a campaign creation you can check expenses for its performing and add them like you do in terms of channels.
