Is it possible?
You can link your domain to GetCourse. It can be a second-level domain, for example, mysite.com. It also can be a third-level domain like online.mysite.com. Third-level domain is usually linked when there is already a big website on a second-level domain.
Why do I need to link it?
There are several cases:
- you already have your website, but “Education” section is going to be on GetCourse (in this case a third-level domain is used usually);
- your website is going to be on GetCourse (our page builder allows designing a true website), and this website should have an address like mysite.com;
- you will create mailings via GetCourse - then you need to add to GetCourse a domain you are going to use to send mailings (it can be the same domain where your website is located even if the domain itself is not on GetCourse). Mind, that domain set up for mailings sendingand linking a domain for website displaying need to follow two different procedures.
How to link?
You need to go to your GetCourse account (“Profile” - “Account settings” - “Domains”) and follow instructions.
Eventually it always comes to inserting/changing of DNS-records in domain control panel on your host provider side (where you’ve bought a domain). Panels look differently on different providers, so this procedure might be complicated. If you face some problems - you’re welcome to write our technical support team - we will help you.
Attention:
To link your domain it should comply with the rules of the international standard:
- starting with a letter;
- ending with a letter or a number;
- consisting only of letters, numbers and dashes;
- containing no more than 63 symbols.
